August 13, 2019 Vienna to Edinburgh to Stirling, Scotland

After our hotel breakfast, we took the airport shuttle/car to the airport.  And just like that, we were on a plane to Scotland and cooler weather.  We flew Easy Jet airline into Edinburgh.  We took a tram from the airport to the train station for the connection to Sterling, Scotland.  We found out yesterday that Edinburgh was having a month long festival.  We hate crowds and planned to get out of the city right away.
the airline actually had a cart with cosmetics to sell, as if they didn't already have enough to do

We had reservations at the Stirling Highland Hotel.  The building was a Victorian 19th century school that was converted to a hotel with a restaurant, observatory and spa.  I insisted that we walk to the hotel and not get a taxi since it was close.  But I didn’t realize it was uphill all the way.  We spent the day walking around the town.  Dave found a place to get his hair cut and I had my glasses fixed.  We stopped at a restaurant for dinner and had a few drinks back at the hotel to round out the day.
