Tracy, Tami and I went cross country skiing again today. We left town about 8:00am and drove to Eagle Cliff past Lead, SD. It took us about 90 minutes to get there and start skiing. It was a little icy at the lower elevation. But after climbing a bit, the snow was much better. But that meant there would be icy conditions on the downhill at the end. I was trying to slow down before hitting the parking lot and took a nasty fall. Luckily, it was backwards and not on my knees. I ended up with a great bruise on my arm. We skied the Raddick Gulch and Roller Coaster trails.

After skiing, we stopped at Cheyenne Crossing for lunch. We had great salads with shrimp or chicken. We were really impressed that they cooked the shrimp better than some places in Florida. They sold the seasoning, so Tracy bought some “Heifer Dust” to take home. The ingredients were kosher salt, granulated garlic, granulated onion, black pepper, and dried parsley. I hope I don’t get in trouble sharing that.
We were back in town early enough for Tracy to get ready for dinner guests. I went to the home of Kyle and Don Blada to visit over wine and appetizers. Yvonne and Marge joined us. I have known Kyle for years through the Zonta Club, a service organization. When we lived on St Patrick Street in Rapid City, Don lived on the corner, then Yvonne, then us. Great to see everyone.

Pete’s band was practicing at his house. So it was fun to listen to them for awhile after I came home.
