March 23, 2017 Guest-Stephanie Larson Stec

3-23 thursday
Stephanie Larson Stec, one of my close dental school friends, arrived today for a 5 day visit.  We went to pick her up around noon.  It was so fun to see her again.  Being in Georgetown together reminded us of a trip we took together to Jamaica together 30 years ago.  We were part of a Mission through the University of Minnesota during our senior year of dental school.

Dave took her luggage back to the boat while we spent a little time in town.  We went to a restaurant that was making fresh conch salad out on a deck by the water.  Great introduction to the slow pace of life.  Stephanie is still practicing dentistry in her own office.  Her husband is an endodontist and owns 2 practices.  They have 3 children college/high school aged and 2 stepsons out of high school.  Plus they live on a “hobby farm” with an apple orchard.  So she has a pretty busy life back at home.

After our light lunch, we went to the grocery store.  It’s fun to let visitors see what our options are.  And we usually like to know what food interests they have.  So we picked up a few more things for her visit.  Then our chauffeur picked us up at the dinghy dock.

We are expecting some strong winds for a few days.  We moved the boat across the bay to be closer to Stocking Island and out of the wind.  At least we can do a few things on shore with a shorter dinghy ride.
