April 3, 2017 Rudder Cut Cay statue and caves

We specifically anchored at Cave Cay so we could dinghy to the mermaid/piano statue off of Rudder’s Cut Cay.  We anchored over the statue and let Joe and Erin do their photo shoot.  I took a couple of their photos off of Facebook to add here.  Afterwards, we checked out a cave with a beach inside of it.  Great place to hang out in the shade.  We let Joe and Erin snorkel the shoreline of Rudder’s Cut Cay then we picked them up further along the shore.

After playing in the water, we motor sailed to Black Point.  On the way, we hooked a bull mahi, really  big.  As Joe was bringing it in, he realized it was tangled in the line and he was dragging it sideways.  It was about 6 feet from bringing it in and he lost it.  We were all disappointed, but we all had a great adrenaline rush.

We went into Black Point to have dinner at Scorpion’s bar and grill.  We ran into Glenn and Cheryl, my Rapid City friend.  Fun to cross paths again.
