August 18, 2018 Beavertail State Park, RI

The marina provides free donuts and coffee on Saturdays.  They were on a shaded deck at the top of the dock, separate from the grilling patio.  After visiting for a couple hours with more locals, we went out for breakfast at Rome Point Café, a nice local diner.  Dave and I had their lobster Benedict, which was awesome.

After breakfast, we drove to Beavertail State Park on an island in the southern part of Narragansett Bay.  It was recommended by another boater in the marina.  It had a light house museum and beautiful views of the water.

gotta love those smiles
We decided to continue our drive through Newport, RI and up to Bristol, RI.  We showed Alice where we had been anchored and enjoyed ice cream.
We made it back to the boat in time for me to shower and go to church at St Bernard’s Catholic Church.  Back at the boat, we had popcorn and watched a movie on the boat.  We accidentally had the sound on outside in the cockpit.  Our neighbor came by to tell us about it.  We were watching RED with lots of shooting at the beginning.  The neighbor checked when he heard a woman screaming.  Dave teased them that they had smelled the popcorn he made and were trying to get some.  They weren’t upset, just letting us know.
