August 15, 2018 Mystic Seaport, CT

We slept in, brought Alice breakfast in bed and left by 11:00 well rested.  We drove to Mystic, Connecticut, about 1.5 hours to go to Mystic Seaport.  It is a replica of a village in the days of the whaling industry.  They have exhibits and ships to explore.  We listened to a singer that has been there 34 years.  He explained some of the songs that were used for keeping time as the men were working on the boat.  He had us singing along on many of them.  We knew some of them from our son, Peter, singing sea shanties with his Irish Band.
We left about 5:00 and checked into our room less than a mile away.  We had plans to go out for a lobster dinner, but we all took naps and ordered pizza delivered to the room.
