September 26-27, 2018 So Freeport to Isles of Shoals

Wednesday
We had one more day before the weather would improve.  We returned the rental car.  Then we all took showers at the marina shower house.  The main floor had showers and laundry.  They second floor had a nice seating area in front of a TV.  There was a nice table and small kitchen area.  It was a great place to spend the day doing laundry and updating computers.

Dave and Pete walked over to the Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster and brought back fish sandwiches for us to eat at the “clubhouse”.

Back at the boat, Dave started getting the boat ready to leave early tomorrow.  He checked for water in the aft section again.  He found it under the batteries, but not under the engine.  The raw water pump was still leaking.  He tightened the bolts against the gasket and tightened the drive belt.  He dried up any remaining water in the shaft area.  We’ll check that after moving the boat again.  There was also some water in the salon bilge.  So we still have to track that down.

Thursday
We sailed to Isles of Shoals today.  We left at 6:45am and made it there by 4:00.  We used a mooring ball again from the yacht club.  There ended up being about a half a dozen boats there for the night.

Dave thought that was a bald eagle

Pete and I spent some time out on the bow helping to watch for lobster pots.

Our friend Morgan Killion Wehrle had a baby boy today.  Kaden James was 7 lbs 10 oz and 20 inches long.  Mama is doing fine.  We have known Morgan since she was a born.  Her parents, Brian and Jackie Killion have been good friends for about 30 years.
