May 23-26, 2021 Tour of the Golden Isles of GA

Sunday-Bev and I went to church in Brunswick on Sunday morning.  Then I took her on a driving tour of  the historical district of Brunswick.

We drove to Darien and toured Fort St George.  There was a strong Scottish influence in this area.
Any trip to Darien isn’t complete without dinner at Skipper’s.

Monday-Bev and I did the Jekyll Island tour.  It was pretty hot, so we spent a little time on Driftwood Beach and drove around the rest of the island.  We toured the Jekyll Island Club, then had a late lunch at Tortuga Jacks.  Always a nice view of the ocean with a breeze off the water.

Tuesday- we toured St Simon’s Island.  We started at the pier with a view of the Golden Ray cargo ship in the channel and some shopping.  Then we drove out to Fort Frederica and found the tree spirits.  We made it back to Brunswick to have dinner with Pete.

we were able to walk the beach near the light house at low tide

Wednesday-Bev headed back to Oklahoma today.  It was great having her visit us on the GA and FL coast.  Pete played guitar at our happy hour tonight.
