Several boaters gathered tonight for a “memorial dinghy drift”. Our friend, Eric Thompson, passed away. He had rectal cancer that spread to many areas of his body. We held a fundraiser for him and his family back in September. Eric used to be an instigator of the dinghy drifts, so it seemed appropriate. We rafted our dinghies together. Then several people shared stories about Eric. One boat went to a beach and shot off fireworks. We returned to the marina and shared more stories around a bonfire. It was nice evening.
