Wednesday, October 28, 2015 St Augustine VA clinic and Cheryl's arrival

Dave and I left about 5:30 am for St Augustine.  Dave gets his medical care at the VA clinic there.  We really should move that to Brunswick, GA.  At 7:45 he went to his lab appointment while I slept in the car :) 

After the short appointment, we went out for breakfast.  We drove back through Jacksonville, FL and stopped at an Apple store.  Our mini iPad has not been connecting to wifi since the last upgrade.  Of course it worked perfect for them.  But once we were back at the marina it didn’t work.  Dave thinks there may be an antenna problem.  So we have to decide if it is worth looking further into or if we want a new one.  We also found out that the GPS works off of cellular phone towers.  So that’s why the GPS doesn’t work once we are off shore.  We only need this as a 3rd back up to our electronic charts.  So we’ll think about what we want to do with it. 

Tonight, I went to the Brunswick airport to pick up my friend, Cheryl Ulmer, from Rapid City, SD.  She is spending about 5 days with us.  Our friend Ricardo joined me and we greeted her with a Brazilian flag. 

It was great to visit and plan the weekend.
