October 24-26, 2018 Sioux Falls, SD visit

Wednesday
We left the boat by 7:00am with a nice sunrise.  The car was in the no over night parking lot, YEAH!!  We were at the airport by 8:30 and said our good-byes.  I had to change planes in Detroit and Minneapolis.

Two of my girlfriends since grade school picked me up in Sioux Falls, Sheryl Gerdes Bedard and Lori Landgrebe Schneller.  We all went directly to a theater to see the new movie “A Star Is Born”.  Lady Gaga and Bradly Cooper did a great job.  The last one came out in 1977, with Barbara Streisand Kris Kistofferson, when the 3 of us were living together in Sioux Falls.  So it was a treat to see this one together.

Thursday
I stayed with Sheryl for 2 nights before joining my family at the hotel.  While Sheryl was at her physical therapy appointment for her knee replacement, I had a haircut and got a flu shot.  The pharmacist at Walgreens was a neighbor to my friend Lori in Canton, SD.  He also grew up with her husband there.  Small world.

Lori, Sheryl and I went out for dinner at Spezia’s, a local Italian restaurant.  It was nice to see both of them again.

Friday
Sheryl and I spent the first half of the day at her house.  She took me to the Homewood Suites hotel by 3:00pm.  All of my siblings were arriving this afternoon.  Our cousin’s wedding isn’t until Sunday, but this will be our family gathering for the year.

The parents of the bride, Gary and Lindy Dwyer, were staying across the hall from us.  They invited us over to visit since they will be busier for the next two days.  Once all of our family arrived, we used the hotel shuttle to take us to Krav’n restaurant for dinner.  Back at the hotel, we hung out in Janice and Jim’s room to watch the World Series.  None of us watched it past the 10th inning.  It actually went 18 innings!!
