September 30, 2023 Sailing on the Swan River and and wild flowers in Kings Park-Perth, Australia

Dave fell in love with the meat pies in Australia.  We researched and found a Jester's to have one on our way to meet Kylie today.

We met Kylie at the Royal Perth Yacht Club, where she is a member.  Their sailing club has a small fleet of boats that they race with.  We were able to use one of them today.  We spent about 2 hours sailing a 21 foot beauty on the Swan River.  It was fun sailing a small boat again.  You feel the weather and the heeling of the boat, unlike our 43 ft live aboard Beneteau.

It was amazing to watch how comfortable Kylie was on the boat.  She is usually on the tiller when racing, but she handled the sails professionally, too.

After sailing, we drove through Kings Park and Botanic Garden. It's a 1.5 square miles of park that is a mixture of grasses parkland, botanical gardens and natural bush-land on 2/3rds of the park.  Since it was spring time in Australia, the wild flowers were in bloom.  Many beautiful and different flowers.

they had sections for each part of the country

nice walking paths through the garden

and of course, you would see sheep, even in the city
