June 28-30, 2023 Schaefer/Zeller family reunion in Rapid City, SD

Our Schaefer/Zeller family reunion was held at Canyon Lake Resort in Rapid City.  We had our meals and family gatherings at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church across the road from the resort.  Our evening meals were catered.  Wonderful to see everyone again.

June 23-27, 2023 Rapid City with friends before our reunion

 6-23 We drove to Rapid City for our family reunion that starts in a few days.  We stayed with Tami and John Petersen and bought Chinese for dinner with them.
6-24 I met several of my girlfriend in Rapid City at Black Hills Bagels for Coffee.  We used to meet here every Friday.  We went to Dakota Point Brewery that afternoon to see friends and eat at a food truck owned by friend’s of our, Brian and AnaMaria Killion.  Patas Azules has Ecuadorian food.  Yummy!

6-25 We took a chicken dinner to Morgan and Kyle Whehrle’s home to visit and play with their 3 kids.  That evening we had a taco dinner at John and Tami’s with Richard and Tracy Perdue.  

 

 

6-26 Monday Tami, Tracy and I drove to Custer State Park.  We hiked around Sylvan Lake and the Cathedral Spires, my favorite places in the Black Hills.

6-27 Spent time with more friends in Rapid City.  My sister, Beverly, and my son, Peter, arrived today to join us at a family reunion in Rapid City.  They also spent the night at Tami and John’s.

June 19-22, 2023 Aberdeen, SD with family

6-19 & 20 I left Watertown and rode to Aberdeen with a friend of Janice's.  We watched my great niece, Claire Crawford, play basketball at a camp at NSU for a couple days.  She's #15.

6-21 Janice and I had pedicures in Aberdeen.  My friend, Nancy Sundstrom, visited with us during our pedicures.  
6-22. We went to Heidi and Glen Crawfords for the day.  The girls enjoyed swimming in their pool.  Dave made Cassoulet and homemade bread for dinner.  Janice made rhubarb crisp.  We don’t have that in the south. 

June 16-18, 2023 Lake Kampeska, Watertown, SD cabin with friends

6-16. Dave dropped me off at Sheryl Bedard’s about 9:30am.  He left for WI to visit his mother, while I spend the weekend with my girlfriends from Miller, SD.  Sheryl and I drove to Watertown, SD to meet Gail Zeller.  We rented a VRBO on Lake Kampeska.  We enjoyed dinner and a bonfire at the cabin.

6-17 After breakfast at the cabin, went shopping in Watertown and had lunch at Dempsey’s.  We returned to our cabin on the Lake and had a relaxing evening by the water.

 

6-18 I went to church in Watertown and visited with friends, Tom and Lesa Franken.  

 

We spent the rest of the day at the cabin.  We missed having Lori with us, but we were able to FaceTime with her to find out how Rod was doing.  He did have a tick bite that caused the meningitis. Lori had to quarantine, also.
