February 7-8, 2021 South Padre Island, TX

Sunday was going to be the nicest day of the week, so we drove to South Padre Island for the night.  We spent the afternoon enjoying the outdoor restaurants and live music.  On our second stop, the band had a twist contest.  You could dance in front of the band wearing a mask, or stand by your table and dance.  No one was participating, so Bev and I stood up at the table and danced.  Wouldn’t you know, we won the contest by default.  We won 2 stuffed monkeys the became our mascots for the week.

We checked into our ocean side hotel and walked along the beach to a couple more places.  We had a progressive dinner along the way and ended up back in our room’s jacuzzi to watch the second half of the super bowl.

We enjoyed a nice walk along the beach on Monday before checking out of the hotel.  We shopped for a new snorkel for me before having a late lunch at Pier 19.
