February 8, 2017 Cave Cay anchorage

I remembered that I had a book for Cheryl, so I went back to their boat this morning.  Cheryl and I went to a nearby beach known as Pirate’s Beach.  The cruisers have donated things over the years.  There were 2 picnic tables, lots of lawn chairs, a couple sun umbrellas, some games, a fire pit area, and even a camping toilet in a cave area nearby.  Not sure who empties it and where.  I guess people gather for happy hour and the sunset.
can't believe that's the only picture we took-Cheryl Ulmer and me
Dave and I motored to Cave Cay on the Exuma banks side of the islands.  We had an area we wanted to snorkel in the morning.  The couple on the only other boat at the anchorage stopped by on their way back to their boat.  They told us about a grotto and a nice beach on the other side of the island.  It was a really calm day, so we decided to take our dingy around Cave Cay.
have bucket of beverages, will travel
This grotto was a cave in the hillside.  Pretty to see.  We found the beach they mentioned.  There is an opening between rocks and then the beach widens out once you’re past that opening.  It made for a nice secluded beach.

Back at the boat, we decided to drift for awhile in the dingy and watch the sunset.  We love these calm nights at anchor.
